Invention of Peking University won the special gold medal at the 44th Geneva International Invention Exhibition

From April 13th to 17th, 2016, the 44th International Exhibition of Inventions (Geneva) was successfully held in Geneva, Switzerland. More than 1,000 inventions from 790 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions participated in the exhibition and exchanges. The Science and Technology Development Department of Peking University organized and recommended three inventions to participate in the exhibition, and won two special gold awards and one silver award. |

The invention of the research group of Associate Professor Wei Xionghui of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering "DDS dedusting, desulfurization and denitrification technology for flue gas" (participants: Wei Xionghui, Wang Jun) and the invention of the research group of Yao Maosheng from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering "Real-time online screening System of pathogenic microorganism in air" (participant: Yaosheng) won the special gold medals of the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions; the invention of the research group of Associate Professor Chen Bin of the School of Earth and Space Sciences "A distributed information collection and retrieval system based on wireless network technology" (participants: Chen Bin, Guo Yanjun, Song Xinyuan, Zhao Jiutong) won the silver award. This project is an experimental teaching system specifically for students' field practice, and it is also a project in which undergraduate students participate as the main performer. |
The Geneva International Invention Exhibition was co-founded in 1973 by the Swiss Federal Government, the Canton of Geneva and the municipal government, and the World Intellectual Property Organization. It is one of the world's longest and largest invention exhibitions. Inventors from all over the world this year demonstrated their new inventions, new technologies, and new ideas to more than 50,000 spectators in the 8,900 square meters venue. The 34 projects of the 10 Chinese university pavilions organized by the International Application Technology Development Collaboration Network have won 42 awards including 6 special gold awards. |
